Description

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Air and Marine Operations (AMO), is conducting market research to identify industry capabilities for commercially available or custom-configured Class 4 Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPVs) for use by the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP). The vessels will support inshore patrol, law enforcement, interdiction, search and rescue, deterrence, reconnaissance, and maritime awareness missions in rivers, lakes, bays, coastal areas, the Great Lakes, and other inshore operating environments. CBP is considering two vessel categories: Patrol Boat-Small (PC1): A nimble vessel, 25 feet or less, intended for shallow and obstructed waterways such as riverine environments. Patrol Boat-Medium (PC2): A stable vessel, at least 25 feet and no more than 29 feet, intended for rougher open waters, including the Great Lakes and coastal/inshore areas. CBP requests vendor feedback on the draft RFI and draft performance specification, including the availability of commercial-off-the-shelf or modified/custom vessel solutions, ability to meet requirements, requirements that may present challenges, recommended changes or clarifications, perceived technical or production risks, warranty terms, estimated pricing, production capacity, delivery schedules, and relevant experience producing similar vessels for the U.S. Government or comparable customers. This notice is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for proposals. The Government does not intend to award a contract based solely on this notice and will not reimburse respondents for costs associated with preparing or submitting information.
