Description
This is an Amendment to the class justification and approval (J&A) for brand name specifications for commercial information technology (IT) maintenance for hardware and software and continued or supplementary licensing for FRTIB-owned software products, justified on a class basis following the framework of FAR 6.303 for open market procurements, FAR 8.405-6(b) for procurements under GSA Schedules, FAR 16.505(b)(2) for Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts, and FAR 13.106-1 for acquisitions less than the simplified acquisition threshold. Only commercial maintenance for hardware and software, data subscriptions, and licensing for hardware and software that is part of the FRTIB's enterprise architecture framework are included in this class justification. Commercial maintenance services may include replacement of existing hardware only if so specified in the maintenance contract. All licenses and maintenance for hardware and software approved under this class J&A are commercial products previously procured and installed within FRTIB's architecture. The FRTIB requires ongoing maintenance and licensing renewals for these installed products. This document provides for brand name maintenance for IT hardware and software or licensing renewals to maintain infrastructure integrity as identified in the FRTIB's IT Technical Plan. This class J&A does not cover hardware or software created specifically for FRTIB use, onsite support services, or help desk support.
