Description

The purpose of this project is to replace the existing, obsolete AC and DC switchboards located in the second-floor electrical equipment room of Building 238 at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The current distribution system, constructed in the 1950s, is beyond its useful life. The new DC switchboard will continue to support the building's battery operations and the DC test power stand for Dry Dock #2, fed by the existing motor generator (MG). The scope also includes the installation of a new DC distribution bus duct in the high bay area, new DC feeders, and the replacement of exterior stairs to ensure code-compliant egress.
