PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a pre-solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not a solicitation. No response is requested at this time. A formal solicitation will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, the construction plans and specifications, instructions to offerors, and the evaluation factors/basis for award. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE FORMAL SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. PLANNED SOLICITATION: The final Solicitation for this project will be announced anytime between 15 and 30 days after the posting of this pre-solicitation. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of placing 65,000 cubic yards (in-place) of unclassified material from the Little River Inlet to re-establish the Upcoast Sand Dike and Berm at the jetty key-in. The federal channel shall be used for the borrow source of material, as indicated in the contract drawings and specifications. The work is located in Horry County, South Carolina. The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammals Protection Act. MAGNITUDE OF WORK: $1,000,000 TO $5,000,000NThe contractor must be registered in WWW.SAM.GOV prior to award of the solicitation.
