SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT Dental Mixer, Amalgamator, and Prophylaxis Units THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this RFI/Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only, to obtain information in regards to the availability of specified products, services, or a combination of both products and services, and to identify potential sources capable of providing products or performing services in accordance with the requirements below. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. DISCLAIMER: This RFI/Sources Sought Notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI/Sources Sought Notice that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. If a solicitation is issued it shall be published at a later date and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the response to this RFI/Sources sought notice. Responses to this sources sought notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Submission of price, delivery, capabilities, and other market information are authorized. However, responses to these notices are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract IAW FAR 15.201(e). The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 339114 (size standard of 750 Employees). DESCRIPTION: The Department of Veteran Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15 (NCO 15) is seeking sources that can provide dental mixer, amalgamator, and prophylaxis units in accordance with (IAW) the below requirement and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 339114 with a size standard of 750 employees. The scope of this purchase order is to provide Harry S Truman VA Medical Center - Multi-Specialty CBOC Rolla with the products for delivery to the Harry S Truman VA Medical Center - Multi-Specialty CBOC Rolla location. Contractors shall furnish all requirements. Specifications: Mixer / Investor, With Vacuum The vacuum mixing system shall: Be a bench-top vacuum mixer designed for dental laboratory and clinical use. Include an integrated vacuum pump capable of producing adequate vacuum for bubble-free mixing. Provide variable speed mixing control. Include a programmable or adjustable timer for controlled mixing cycles. Include a stable floor or bench stand for mounting the mixer. Be compatible with multiple bowl sizes (minimum 300 mL and 500 mL capacity). Operate on standard 110-120V, 60 Hz electrical service. Include a clear mixing bowl lid for visual monitoring. Provide a secure bowl locking mechanism to maintain vacuum integrity. Be capable of mixing: Gypsum Investment materials Silicone duplicating materials Alginate and similar dental materials Amalgamator, Dental Highs speed amalgamator 0-16 second microprocessor crystal controlled oscillator timer Mixing frequency of 4600 oscillations per minute One surface cover facilitates infection control cleaning and the non-porous plastic surface can be cleaned with any dental disinfectant Consistent accurate trituration Multi-Use mixer High energy output/ Low energy usage Prophylaxis Unit, Ultrasonic System Configuration Combination ultrasonic scaler and air polishing system in a single integrated unit Self-contained tabletop or cart-compatible configuration Compatible with standard dental operatory delivery systems Includes foot control for hands-free activation Ultrasonic Scaling Capabilities Magnetostrictive ultrasonic technology operating at approximately 25 kHz or 30 kHz Adjustable power control with low-to-high range Accepts 25 kHz and/or 30 kHz inserts/tips Automatic frequency tuning to maintain optimal performance Lavage control for coolant flow adjustment Water coolant delivery through handpiece Air Polishing Capabilities Integrated air polishing system within same unit Adjustable air pressure and powder flow control Dedicated air polishing handpiece Removable powder chamber with secure locking mechanism Compatible with sodium bicarbonate or manufacturer-approved prophylaxis powders Handpieces and Accessories Detachable, sterilizable ultrasonic handpiece Sterilizable air polishing handpiece components Includes foot pedal control Includes starter kit of scaling inserts and air polishing tips Includes powder chamber(s) Includes necessary tubing and connections Infection Control & Maintenance Autoclavable handpieces and/or detachable components Smooth, cleanable exterior surfaces Flush mode for waterline maintenance Easily accessible water filter Compatible with dental waterline cleaning protocols Electrical Requirements Operates on standard 110-120 VAC, 50/60 Hz Hospital-grade power cord Meets UL/ETL safety standards The contractor shall provide a manufacturer s two-year, free replacement warranty on units with normal wear and tear, including free return shipping, from date of delivery.
