Description

Description: The New England District will be hosting an in-person Industry Day for the West Point, Thayer Hall Demolition and construction project, scheduled for August 6, 2026. The event will include a project overview presentation, site visit, and will be followed by a limited number of one-on-one meetings to discuss project specifics with the Project Delivery Team. This project will be executed as a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2808a, Facility Construction or Repair. This approach will involve the general contractor during the design phase to provide feedback and input to the designer of record and the government on constructability, operability, cost, and value engineering on the design being developed. Event Details: Date: August 6, 2026 Time: Presentation and site visit: 10:00 AM 12:00 PM One-on-one meetings with the Project Delivery Team: 1:00 PM 5:00 PM (meetings will be scheduled in 45-minute time slots, offered on a first-come, first-served basis) Location: Thayer Hall at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY The event s primary goal is to seek input from the construction industry and answer questions regarding best practices for project execution. Please note that attendance is limited to general contractors, who are permitted to bring up to two representatives from their subcontracting teams. Each general contractor is allowed a maximum of five attendees for the event. A detailed agenda, site logistics, and a list of topics/questions will be provided at least one week prior to the event. Registration: All interested attendees must pre-register by email to Brian Mannion (Brian.T.Mannion@usace.army.mil) no later than July 31, 2026. If you wish to participate in one-on-one meetings, please indicate in your registration email. Meetings will be assigned based on availability.
