Description

This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of a Request for Proposal Package for its construction project entitled, "CHICAGO HARBOR LOCK CHAMBER FLOOR AND WALL REPAIR, CHICAGO, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS." PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract, the contractor will be required to repair the chamber floor and wall at the Chicago Harbor Lock, Chicago, Illinois. The United States Army Corp of Engineers, Chicago District is preparing to conduct maintenance work on the floor and walls of the Chicago Lock Harbor. The purpose of the required maintenance work is to create a secure and durable floor and ensure the north and south walls will withstand forces from extreme weather and passing vessels. The floor and walls of the Chicago Harbor need rehabilitation to prevent further deterioration. CONTRACTING OFFICE: USACE Chicago District, 231 SOUTH LaSALLE STREET, SUITE 1500, Chicago, IL 60604 ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is FULL AND OPEN, UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237990, with a small business size standard in dollars of $39.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00. The Solicitation package (Request for Proposal - "RFP") will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project Statement of Work is a Portable Document Format (PDF) file and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once the package is released into advertisement at this website ("beta.SAM.gov"), interested offerors may download the full package. The Solicitation package is planned for advertisement on or about July 29, 2021, with proposals due on or about August 31, 2021. IN THE CASE OF A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE DATES PUBLISHED IN THIS NOTICE AND THOSE CALLED OUT IN THE RFP DOCUMENT, THE DATES IN THE RFP DOCUMENT OVERRIDES THOSE PUBLISHED HEREIN THIS NOTICE; THIS IS RELATIVE TO THE RFP ISSUANCE DATE AND THE DUE DATE FOR PROPOSALS. IMPORTANT POLICY: Offerors are REQUIRED to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) AT THE TIME ITS PROPOSAL IS SUBMITTED to comply with the annual representations and certifications requirements.
