Description

The purpose of this requirement is to repair a 2024 Kenworth T880 VIN:1XKZD49X9RJ375139 that was in an accident and sustained damage to the front end of the truck, including damage to the suspension, body and engine related components. This request is for a "Kenworth Truck Dealer" to repair this vehicle with "only original equipment parts" due to its Nuclear Certification. Due to the nature of Nuclear Certified Equipment, AFI 63-125_angsup dated 26 Sept 2024 on page 12, section 4.7.1: When a using or supporting command wants to modify a certified item, they are responsible for assessing the impact of that change. The document clarifies that this assessment must be done in coordination with the "original equipment manufacturer (OEM)/design authority." Also, DAFI24-302, 4.26 Note:3 states, " Vehicles, semi-trailers and other vehicular equipment assets identified in the FMIS M&U with a Y is for maintenance purposes only ; meaning that it is used to inform VM personnel that precautions should be taken when performing repairs or modifications that could affect an assets primary structure, electrical and hydraulic power systems, load-bearing capacity (suspension), steering and braking capability, software, or positive control features, as well as any changes resulting in noncompliance with specific AFMAN 91-118 design criteria"
