Only the laser operator, who enters the cube from the opening at the back wears laser safety goggles and everyone else can stand approximately 180 degrees around the front of the cube. No one stands behind the cube unless they have laser goggles on, and the cube should be positioned so that the back is facing a curtain or a wall and observers can only see it from the front and sides. A fume extractor is inserted into the cube from the back as well. The laser is only fired at samples or parts inside the middle of this cube that are placed on the bottom surface. Three sides and the top of the cube are made of laser safety windows. The laser safety windows in this cube have an OD of 9+ @1064nm. A standard cube measures 48? x 48? and is 48? tall. Other custom size cubes can be made on request. Materials being cleaned should be placed at the bottom of the cube so the laser is fired downward. The laser operator wears laser goggles while cleaning a sample inside the cube and anyone standing in front of the cube (in the green zone) does not need to wear laser goggles as they are viewing the process through the laser safety windows.
