Description

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Chant Engineering Co., Inc., 59 Industrial Drive, New Britain, PA 18901 (Cage Code: 7K419) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), as only one source is reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) has an urgent requirement to perform an on-site evaluation, repair, and provide operational and maintenance training for a Government-owned Chant Nose Wheel Steering (NWS) Test Cart (Part Number 30787-01). Chant Engineering Co., Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for this test stand and is the only known source with the necessary technical expertise, proprietary data, and source code required to perform the evaluation, repair, and training to restore the equipment to full operational capability. The Government does not own the data rights to the source code or OEM specifications necessary to perform this effort. For this reason, the Government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Chant Engineering Co., Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Point of contact for this requirement is Abbey Carpenter at abbey.r.carpenter.civ@us.navy.mil.
