The purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract, in accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), brand name products detailed in this announcement for the 11-meter satellite antennas used in the Alaska Satellite Telecommunication Infrastructure (ASTI) system. The FAA intends to award a single purchase order for the Thomson Linear equipment listed below: (see part list in attachments) Part # 4751-01-00 / Thomson Linear 50-BSJ-U Quantity: 8 Gear Ratio: 10.66:1 First Shaft Option: SSE - Standard Shaft Ext. This announcement is issued to advise interested parties of the FAA's intent to issue an award valued in excess of $350,000. If your firm does not agree with this brand name determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capability and experience in providing the supplies and services outlined herein and the FAA will evaluate by e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Leslie Bolton, no later than 3:00 P.M.
