Description

The Government intends to award a sole source procurement under RFO 12.102(a) to Span-America Medical Systems, Inc., or an authorized offeror providing the product of the approved source. The Dayton VA Medical Center (VAMC) has a requirement for ten each new Control Unit (Span-America P/N 27686). The high-performance digital pump is required to activate the active therapeutic modes of the Custom Care Convertible Low Air Loss (LAL) series mattresses used by the Dayton VAMC. By connecting this unit to the mattress system, it provides consistent Low Air Loss (LAL) and alternating pressure therapies to treat Stage I-IV pressure injuries. This particular model is necessary to use the mattresses with the Umano bed frames currently in use by the Dayton VAMC. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government is soliciting only one source BRAND NAME ONLY under the authority of RFO 12.102(a). The determination not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Offerors capable of providing the products of Span-America Medical Systems, Inc., the approved source, are invited to review the Request for Quotation and provide a quote. Response to this synopsis is not required. All inquiries and concerns must be sent to Contract Specialist Benjamin Reza via e-mail to benjamin.reza@va.gov.
