Description

The contractor shall supply and deliver 8 (ea) recessed shell bits (Make: Schoellhorn-Albrecht, Model: S1173). These recessed shell bitts are to be installed on 300x80x10 cargo barge to facilitate safe and efficient attachment of dock lines. Bitt placement within the side-shell will put the line attachment points within reach of deck personnel on the dock. Due to the amount of barge freeboard, the existing deck kevels are not reachable from the dock without 2 personnel at each location. Structural analysis and fitment drawings have been completed by USACE Marine Design Center for this specific make/model of recessed bitt.See attached for more details.
