Description

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line (MECPL) has a requirement to negotiate and award a sole-source acquistion for the continued annual storage and maintenance of four complete ALCO 251F diesel engines used for maintenance and repairs of ALCO 251F model diesel engines installed on USCG WMEC 270 SLEP cutter platforms. The USCG SFLC intends to award a firm fixed price, sole-source requirements type contract to Fairbanks Morse Defense to fulfill requirements by issuing individually funded delivery orders. It is the Government's belief that only Fairbanks Morse Defense has the capability to meet this requirement. This acquisition is being issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(I), as implemented by FAR 6.103-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contract terms and requirements will be developed jointly between the Government and Fairbanks Morse Defense, in accordance with FAR 12. The applicable North American Industrical Classification System (NAICS) code is 333618, and the size standard is 1,500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. While the Government does not anticipate competition, any responsible source may submit a proposal that shall be considered. Information received will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement, which is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses to this notice shall be sent to Monica.W.Paul@uscg.mil or Kaity.George@uscg.mil no later than 4:00 PM, EDT, on 14 August 2026. There is no solicitation package available.
