Description

The U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Fort Knox, 199 6th Avenue, Suite 250, Fort Knox, KY 40121, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Boston Dynamics, Inc. (UEI: CG78ATJ18YX5 / CAGE Code: 0Y756), located at 200 Smith St., Ste. 4100, Waltham, MA 02451. The procurement is for a comprehensive warranty package for Spot the Dog. The U.S. Army 6th Recruiting Brigade owns Spot the Dog and requires the Spot Care Service Plan which provides all-inclusive system protection, including full coverage for accidental damage incurred during routine operations, automatic software updates, and comprehensive parts replacement. This action is being conducted under FAR Part 12 (DFARS CD 2026-O0028), Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is simplified acquisition procedures for commercial products and commercial services, Title 41 U.S.C. 1901, as implemented by FAR 12.201-1 (DFARS CD 2026-O0028), for commercial acquisitions valued at or below the simplified acquisition threshold. This is not a request for competitive offers, quotes or capability statements. No solicitation will be posted as a result of this notice. This notice complies with FAR 5.101 (DFARS CD 2026-O0003), methods of disseminating information. However, interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement within the required timeframe. All capability statements must be received no later than 10 September 2026 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Submitted capability statements shall include sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the requirement, including relevant experience, pricing information (if available), and supporting documentation. Submissions shall be sent via email to Contract Specialist, Ashley Brus, at ashley.a.brus.civ@army.mil and Contracting Officer, Joseph R. Lawrence, at joseph.r.lawrence3.civ@army.mil. The anticipated award date is September 2026.
